WHAT THE NIGHT LOOKS LIKE
- Every Saturday has a theme, a demonstration, and a project.
- Kids arrive at 5 PM and start with free play in the lab. At 5:15 we run the night's demo — a Van de Graaff generator making hair stand on end, sand leaping into geometric patterns on a vibrating plate, a magnet falling in slow motion through a copper pipe. Then pizza. Then the build.
- The build is the real thing. Kids use actual tools and actual materials to make something that works, and they take it home. A wooden catapult. A working motor. A spectroscope that splits light into a rainbow. Not a craft kit — a project.
- Pickup is at 8. They will be tired, and they will talk about it the whole way home!
