Intro to 3D Design & Print
6 Weeks
No pre-requisite, and it's a great fit whether your child is new to 3D printing or has dabbled a bit but hasn't yet mastered the fundamentals.
Over six weekly 75-minute classes, students will learn to design their own creations and bring them to life on our fleet of 3D printers.
Our curriculum is licensed from an Autodesk Authorized Training Center - the same design software family used by real engineers — and we've divided it into two 6-week courses so kids can build skills at a comfortable, confidence-building pace.
Spots in our 3D printing courses fill quickly, so if the earlier time slot didn't work for your family, this is your chance.

Our First Class Promise: We think your child will love it. But if they attend the first class and it's not their thing, just let us know — we'll refund the remaining five sessions, no questions asked. That means you risk just one class, not the whole course.
As always, every member of our staff has completed Livescan fingerprint background check screening (both California Department of Justice and FBI.)
This is a taught 6-week class at our El Dorado Hills lab, not a self-serve print counter. Kids design in Tinkercad, print on our lab printers, and take every project home.

Is this the El Dorado Hills Library 3D Print Lab?
No. The library is a self-serve print lab. It's a great service that is offered by the library but it assumes some knowledge of 3D design and printing. Ours is a taught 6-week class: design in Tinkercad, print here, take projects home.
Do you take kids from Folsom?
Yes. The lab is in El Dorado Hills, about 15 minutes from Folsom / Broadstone.
Is this a coding class?
No. Kids learn CAD in Tinkercad and 3D printing, not Scratch/Python.
Do kids take the prints home?
Yes, every project.
Do they need software at home?
Tinkercad runs in the browser. We'll tell you what they need on the first day.
